Single Activities or Fundraisers

We encourage not only our Youth Ambassadors, but also young adults to initiate and lead their own engagement activities or fundraisers at their school, community groups and work places. They can take ideas from us or create their own. Our OA staff will work with you to build a project that best suits your needs. We will work with college students on projects that meet credit or service requirements.

Success Stories

  • Tia Benson, a college student from Utah State University, selected the Ouelessebougou Alliance as a community service project for one of her classes. Tia researched the Alliance’s programs and decided she wanted to support our education programs. For #GivingTuesday, she coordinate a fundraising campaign on social media to raised donations to purchase pencils for our 12 partner elementary schools.
  • Many college students have chosen Ouelessebougou Alliance for research projects. These have included opportunities to learn about Mali’s health and education programs, as well as invite staff or board members to present in their classrooms. During their visits to Utah, our Mali staff has participated in projects and presentations at Westminster, U of U, BYU and UVU.
  • College service groups have donated their time to promote our Gala Fundraiser and volunteer day-of at our event.

Become a Youth Ambassador

College age students 18 – 21 are invited to apply and participate. Individuals do not need to be enrolled in college. The program allows young adults to develop leadership skills and broaden the impact of their service by connecting and inspiring others.

Individuals ages 18 – 24 may also apply for the OA Ambassadorship. This is a two-year commitment and participants will go through an interview position process to be selected.
